DCX Project Extreme Adventure Week

June 16-20

Are you ready for a week of extreme adventure?  This is the way you need to start your summer!  We will be learning the art of harnessing and knot-tying, skills you’ll need to scale our 60 foot climbing tower.  Take two rides on our 500 foot long zip line, and embark on some team building adventures on our low ropes course.  Climb 27 feet in the air on our high ropes course which ends with a wild zip line ride.  This week fills up fast so sign up now!

DCX Amazing Race Week

June 23-27

Have you ever seen the amazing race?  Join us as we undertake an amazing race of our own.  This week, we’ll be teaming up each day to challenge ourselves with activities from all over camp.  You’re going to have opportunities to master archery, canoeing, map reading, orienteering and the 500 foot long zip line.  For a bit of extra fun, we’ll take a trip offsite to go horseback riding.  You are not going to want to miss this week of camp!

Youth Leadership Training Program

June 30-July 3

Have you ever thought it would be great to volunteer at camp as a Leader In Training?  Then this week is just for you!  Build your leadership skills while having fun!  This short week we’ll be exploring the issues that face you and your community, and discussing ways to address these problems.  Concepts of self awareness, team work, communication, leadership, and diversity will be explored.  Tower, high ropes, and low ropes will all be a part of this week.  Come and learn leadership while having a blast,  and finish the week by applying to our LIT program.

DCX Survivor Week

July 7-11

Do you think you have what it takes to make it in our survival challenge?  We hope so!  If you’ve always loved the outdoors or wished that you knew more about it, this week is for you.  We will learn wilderness safety and first aid, how to build a fire and shelter, and how to “hunt” with a bow and arrow at archery.  Don’t worry, we’ll also have plenty of crazy survivor challenges.  Thursday, we will have a camp out where you’re skills will be put to the test.  You’ll pitch your own tent, cook over an open fire and sleep out under the stars.  On Friday morning, we will learn how to pack up and eat an outdoor breakfast.  By the end of this week you’ll be able to survive anything!

DCX Gladiator Games Week

July 14-18

Are you ready to enter the arena?  This week you don’t have to be a gladiator, just a lover or games.  We are going to challenge you in every way you can imagine: Ultimate Capture the Flag, Gotcha, video games, softball, low ropes, paint ball, counselor hunts and sumo wresting are all in store.  It won’t be all guts and no glory…prizes will be awarded for everyone.  You’ll leave this week as a DCX Gladiator.

DCX H20 Extreme Week

July 21-26

Are you tired of the heat yet?  Cool off with us during this week of water mayhem.  We are going to be wet all week long doing a great mix of water front activities, water balloon challenges, water balloon sling shot, canoeing and swimming.  On Thursday, we will spend the day at a water park.  How about a day at an indoor pool, for a relaxing float as we take in a movie?  Sound like fun? What are you waiting for?  Call and sign up!

DCX Variety Camp

July 28-August 1

Variety is the spice of life!  This week we are going to have plenty of it!  This week, we’ll go offsite every single day!  We’ll go horseback riding on Monday, canoe the Huron River on Tuesday, and hit the miniature golf course on Wednesday.  Thursday we’ll go roller skating, and Friday we’ll hit the bowling alley for a few games of fun!  As if that doesn’t sound fun enough, plan on a pizza party and a cook out thrown in there for good measure.  Get a summer’s worth of adventure packed into just one week.

Junior Zookeeper’s Week

August 4-8

Join us for what we do best!  Whether you’re considering a career working with animals, want to get to know more about Nature’s fascinating creatures, or just love to try something different, this camp is going to be a one-of-a-king opportunity for you.  Work hand-in-glove with The Howell Conference and Nature Center’s amazing Animal Department as you explore topics such as Wildlife Rehabilitation, Zoology, Animal Husbandry, Zootrition, Exhibit Design and Behavioral Enrichment through demonstrations, tours, and hands-on visuals.  “Adopt” an animal and become an expert.

DCX Over the Edge Extreme Week

August 11-15

Get ready for a week filled with experiences you’ll never forget!  Monday, learn the basics of rock climbing; how to tie essential knots, how to inspect and properly use equipment and the essentials of safe climbing.  More experienced climbers can take our belaying class.  Tuesday, put those new skills to the test as you scale our 60-foot outdoor climbing tower.  Experienced climbers can challenge themselves as they try to beat their own speed record or try climbing one-handed.  Ride the zip, tackle the 35-foot high North Pines zip line, the 25-foot high South Pines high ropes course, and join us for a trip to Base Camp Challenge Center in Flint for “real rock” climbing and high ropes.

The Best of DCX Week

August 18-22

Come join us as we repeat the best times of summer.  You’ll have a blast doing our high ropes courses, taking one last zip on our zip line, and scaling the tower for the final time this summer.  We’ll also revisit our favorite traditional camp activities, shooting archery, canoeing and so much more.  This is the best way to close out the summer…with memories to last the whole year through!
