Wild Wonders Wildlife Park

Spanning a half-mile trail of woodland landscape at the Howell Nature Center, the Wild Wonders Wildlife Park is a forever home to more than 70 permanently injured, non-releasable Michigan native birds, mammals and reptiles.

Who are our Animal Ambassadors?

Wild Wonders is home to a variety of native wildlife, from Woody (Michigan’s official groundhog) to coyote, great-horned owls, bobcats, bald eagles, snowy owls and more! The wild animals who call our teaching zoo home have come to us for many reasons. Most were permanently injured in the wild, often brought to our own Wildlife Clinic for treatment. Others were kept illegally as pets and a small number were bred in captivity for use in education. All are non-releasable and serve as animal ambassadors to help educate thousands each year about how to live in harmony with their species and other wildlife in our own backyards (to support Wild Wonders and sponsor an animal, click here). Many of the Park’s residents also go on over 300 live bird of prey and mammal programs each year throughout Michigan (learn more about our live wildlife presentations).
